So far this off season has went that great for the Bombers as they have been unable to add another power bat this offseason. The hope was they would be able to move a couple of pitchers in to do so. But so far they have been unable to move the surplus.
The battle for the 5 spots should be a good one in spring training with 9 guys competing. The Staff has 5 first round competing for jobs.
The rotation
1. Mule Black- The 24 old is 15-12 in his short career. 2007 1st round pick
2. Ernie Alexander- 8-6 in his first season with Bombers. 2006 1st round pick
3. Carter Schofield- 8-11 in his rookie season. 2005 1st round pick
4. David Mecir- 7-10 last year.David joined the team in 2007 in a trade with Dur
5.Oswaldo Cairo- 2-4 last year. He has been up and down early in his career. The 1st round pick in 2004.
The Contenders
6. Bruce Hardy- 5-8 season came over in the O'Neil deal last offseson. Is 41-27 in his career.
7. Marc Hardy- 6-10 has never put it together like the Bombers though he would he has a chance to be a solid back of the rotation starter. Trade to the Bombers in 2005
8. Rocky Hemingway- 5-0 last year. Was also part of the O'Neil trade
9. Frank Bonilla- Could be a back of the rotation starter.
10 Freddy Swindell- Has been solid in the minors 2007 2nd round pick.
11. Byung-Hyun Sasaki- 20-14 in his minor league career. Was the 2008 1st round pick.

The commitment to pitching in the 1st round has been remarkable. You should definitely be able to move some of these arms for a bat or 2.
