Bombers win title
Anaheim won its first world title against Charleston in a sweep. The title comes as surprise to many as they Bombers were seen as long shot to win it going into the playoffs. They won off strong pitching lead by Mule Black, Miguel Sosa and Ernie Alexander. The longest Bombers came through in the final game after a slow playoffs Andrew Richard and Phil Murphy hit back to back homeruns to tie and Harry Rosado hit a 2 run homerun to win the world series.

Black Throws No Hitter
For the 2nd time in his last 4 starts Mule Black threw a no hitter. Mule was the 1st pick of the Bombers back in 2007 and has turned himself into the Ace of the staff. He currently has a 15-2 record and a 131 k's to 34 bb. Mule also just recently started the all star game for the NL throwing a scoreless 1st inning.

Midseason review
A look at how 2010 has played itself out for the Bombers so far. It has been a roll coaster ride. Its hard to believe at one point this team was 12 games over .500 with the best record in the nl. That was many games ago the good new is they still find themselves in the division race. The recent 3 game winning streak over Phi has given the team new life. The amazing thing is that the sp has pitched better then their record would show. They are 33-23 with 4 of the 5 starters having ERAs under 3.20. Alexander finds himself sitting at 11-3 and will be making his 1st all star game. 3 of the starting 5 have come from 2005-2007 drafts.
Is going to his 3rd all star game. Andrew has hit 35 hr this year bring his career total up to 468. He is also closing in on 1500 career hits.

Bombers add bat
In what was been a 2+ year search to add a middle of the order bat the Bomber may have finally done it. The bombers and Thunder have agreed on a deal pending league approval that would bring over Nick Regan. The price wasnt cheap to acquire him costing the Bombers recently acquired Cf Sam Cambridge, former 1sr round pick Byung-Hyun Sasaki and finally Anthony Joseph. Joseph was the 5th round pick last year and will play great D behind the plate.
The question is Ana is when will they see Regan in the major leagues. With Giomar Delgado having a good season but he is likely to be moved and then there is Wascar Cedeno who has done more then anyone could have expected hitting .400 with 5 hr and 12 rbi.
Bomber ownership said that a prospect like Regan was to good to pass up with hopes that he may one day compare to the great Jeff Jennings of Hon.

Bombers Stuck out
So far this off season has went that great for the Bombers as they have been unable to add another power bat this offseason. The hope was they would be able to move a couple of pitchers in to do so. But so far they have been unable to move the surplus.
The battle for the 5 spots should be a good one in spring training with 9 guys competing. The Staff has 5 first round competing for jobs.
The rotation
1. Mule Black- The 24 old is 15-12 in his short career. 2007 1st round pick
2. Ernie Alexander- 8-6 in his first season with Bombers. 2006 1st round pick
3. Carter Schofield- 8-11 in his rookie season. 2005 1st round pick
4. David Mecir- 7-10 last year.David joined the team in 2007 in a trade with Dur
5.Oswaldo Cairo- 2-4 last year. He has been up and down early in his career. The 1st round pick in 2004.
The Contenders
6. Bruce Hardy- 5-8 season came over in the O'Neil deal last offseson. Is 41-27 in his career.
7. Marc Hardy- 6-10 has never put it together like the Bombers though he would he has a chance to be a solid back of the rotation starter. Trade to the Bombers in 2005
8. Rocky Hemingway- 5-0 last year. Was also part of the O'Neil trade
9. Frank Bonilla- Could be a back of the rotation starter.
10 Freddy Swindell- Has been solid in the minors 2007 2nd round pick.
11. Byung-Hyun Sasaki- 20-14 in his minor league career. Was the 2008 1st round pick.

Break news
Bombers ownership meets with manager, pitching coach and hitting coach. Jordan Leskanic manager of the Bombers was told that if he doesn’t fix the currently slide of the Bombers he will not be returning next year along with pitching coach George Valentine and hitting coach Carlos James. Ownership released a statement says “We have way to much young talent to be struggling like we are. We want the fans to know we are working to return back to playoffs.” Expectations have been raised with two straight winning seasons after 6 years of losing. They also had the surprise run to NLCS in 2007.
The Bombers first 6 years they went 413-559. But the last 2+ years the Bombers are sitting at 236-217. Which has been a pretty dramatic turn around for this franchise.

2 1st picks start Bombers Careers
The Bomber have had a new look staff making a couple deals around the deadline to open up spots for two of their young starters. Oswaldo Cairo the 2004 first round pick come up 8 starts ago. He is currently 1-2 with a 3.86 era. Mule Black last years first round pick joined the big club a start ago. Going 6 innings with 7 striking out and walking 0, while allowing 2 runs in a no decision.
ESPN is reporting that the Bombers have reached a deal with the Flying Fish that is pending league approval. It will send Willie Tatis and Jesse Holliday to the fish in exchange for Louis Leary and Garret O'Neill.
Jesse Holliday was the Bombers 3rd round pick in 2005 and was currently at AA. Willie Tatis was the Bombers 2nd all time wins lead with 37. Louis Leary the main piece of the trade that the Bombers received will be playing 3b and 2b. He was a 1st round pick back in 2001. He currently has 2 years of ML experience. Garret O’Neill was a 2nd round pick in 2007 and should give the Bombers their 1b of the future. He hits for contact with decent power. He was hitting .346 with 7 homeruns in AA.

Willie Tatis
This week we take a look at the Bombers young lefty Willie Tatis. Willie was a 2003 International free agent. But joined the Bombers in 2004 in a trade from Honolulu Cella’ Dwella’s. He was acquired for ss Geraldo Manzanillo.
Willie made his major league debut at 21 years old. The now 23 year old took over 2nd place on the Bombers all time wins list early this year. Willie holds a major league record of 31-16. With a career high of 15 wins last year, and made his first all star game which he and the Bombers hope is the first of many.
Willie often gets lost in the shuffle of the Bombers young pitchers. At 23 he seems like he has pitched for the Bombers a lot longer then he has. Willie has said he wonders how he fits into the Bombers long term plans.
