Phil Murphy Becomes a core member of the Bombers with them locking him up for 5 years at 8.1 million a year. He will be teamed with Andrew Richards now thru 2010. Phil is coming off a .292 30 homeruns and he drove in 82 runs. At age 23 Anaheim was excited to sign him for the next 5 years.
The Bombers also signed two of the pitchers they traded for last year to multi year deals with Ernie Locke signing for 3 years at 7.8 million and David Mecir signed for 4 years at 5 million a year. Which will buy the 4 young pitchers (Black, Alexander, Schofield, Cairo) a couple more years to get ready in the minors. The other 3 spots should belong to Murray O'Neil, Willie Tatis, and rookie Marc Hardy.
